Cortland Surgical Center uses advanced technology to help ensure patient safety and quality improvement. Some of these technologies include:
Image-guided Navigation System which provides real-time images to the surgeon allowing the surgeon to “see” where the instrument is inside the head. This is often used in sinus surgeries such as a Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS).
NIM 3.0 Nerve Monitoring System- This allows the surgeon to locate and identify nerves to help avoid irritating the nerve during surgery. This is often used in parotidectomies and thyroidectomies.
