The Cortland Surgical Center utilizes state-of-the-art technology that allows our highly skilled physicians to deliver the best possible patient outcomes and collaborate on continuous quality improvement.
Our advanced technology includes:
- Image-Guided Navigation System – the Cortland Surgical Center uses the Fusion™ ENT Navigation System for patients requiring sinus surgery. Similar to a global positioning system (GPS), the Fusion™ surgery system provides real-time images that allow the surgeon to “see” precisely where the instrumentation is inside the patient’s head during the procedure. This enables more precise removal of diseased tissue while avoiding critical areas, thereby increasing patient safety.
- NIM 3.0 Nerve Monitoring System – the NIM 3.0 Monitoring System provides advanced nerve monitoring technology for intra-operative use during various surgeries such as parotidectomies and thyroidectomies. Patients can suffer temporary or permanent damage if a nerve is irritated or injured during surgery. The NIM 3.0 system allows our surgeons to locate and identify the nerve, and confirm nerve integrity prior to completing the surgery.
